Objetos del catálogo Caldwell

Hola amigos

Hace un par de meses, la revista Astronomía citó de pasada el catálogo Caldwell de objetos de cielo profundo. Yo jamás había oído hablar de él y cual es mi sorpresa que el GOTO de mi celestron tiene en su bendita memoria los 109 objetos que refiere dicho catálogo.
¿Conocéis estos objetos? ¿vale la pena intentar observarlos?
¿son fáciles?. Vamos, si disponéis de información al respecto os lo agradezco.
A cambio os comentaré que tal son los que vaya observando

Creo que es otro catálogo creado no hace mucho sobre objetos más o menos brillantes. Parece ser que el autor intentó venderlo como un suplemento del messier.

Precisamente estaba buscando el articulo que cita inavarro para poner el enlce... yo estoy de acuerdo con lo que comenta el autor en el articulo.

Con respecto a la observación, pues son algunos de los objetos más brillantes del NGC, asi que muchos son vistosos e interesantes de ver. Si que merece la pena observalos (como todo el cielo profundo!!). Algunos son muy conocidos, como la Nebulosa saturno (NGC 7009), la NGC 7662 o el Velo.

Excelente el link que proporcionas, inavarro88. Aunque lo encuentro muy duro con el catálogo Caldwell.

Por ejemplo, hace mucho tiempo encontré que el Observatorio Arval, de Caracas (Venezuela) tenía (o había confeccionado) sus propios catálogos.

Pues bien, aunque no tengo que ver nada con dicho observatorio e incluso éste se encuentra lejíiiiisimos de mí, en su día le eché una ojeada a esos catálogos y me parecieron muy útiles.
Al fin y al cabo les sucede lo mismo que con el Caldwell. ¿Porqué hacen un Catálogo de Galaxias Brillantes cuando todas ellas ya tienen su catalogación como Messier o NGC? Yo me lo tomo como unas guías. A cada uno de nosotros les puede sacar provecho o no. Gustar o no. Pero no dejan de ser nuevas guías. Es como decir ¿Para qué existe la Guía Michelin si ya existe la Guía Campsa (o viceversa)? Pues cuantas más mejor. Cada uno escogerá aquella que mejor le vaya.

Este es el "catálogo" Caldwell por si alguno le interesa. Como podreis comprobar hay muchos viejos conocidos. Por cierto los autostar de meade también lo incorporan.
