Nada, al pasar a la 4.18 en inglés me dice que el lenguage es erróneo. Vuelvo a la 4.13 y me aguanto.

"Firmware Versions on the NexStar 4/5 SE
Non-English Hand Control Owners - read this. The
information below is for English-version hand controls.

NexStar 4/5 SE scopes have two sets of processors. There are processors in the hand control (HC) and there are processors in the base of the scope in a section known as the motor control (MC). The MC firmware can be updated by the owner (read this). The HC firmware can also be updated by the owner (read this).

Note that the NexStar 4/5 SE mount is distinct from the NexStar 6/8 SE and uses different MC firmware.

HC Versions

4.18 - An important upgrade with many new features and fixes. The hand control now calculates positions with respect to precession - in other words, previously all coordinates were J2000 while this version uses JNow. Polar alignment routine is now under the Align menu and allows alignments on stars other than Polaris. Additionally, after polar alignment, the scope no longer requires a new alignment. Fixes problems with Southern Hemisphere alignments. Pressing ALIGN while in the Named Stars menu now takes you to the Align menu. If there is no GPS module, changes the initial alignment to always prompt for the date and time. Sets slew rate to 5 upon waking from hibernation. The Factory Settings menu item now resets all motor control settings (as well as the hand control settings) and will force the user to restart the system. The hand control is now locked when performing a motor control upgrade via the port on the bottom of the hand control. Added two PC control commands: one to undo any current "Sync", the other to retrieve the local sidereal time from the hand control. Fixed error when using SAO stars (selected from the STAR button) as alignment objects. Fixes a bug which changes rate if a direction button is pressed after the RATE button. Fixes a rare problem updating the motor control through the hand control. Corrects Abell objects with negative magnitudes.
4.15 - Shipped on some SE scopes at the end of 2009, this version was never officially released by Celestron. It includes all of the features of 4.18, except the Southern Hemisphere fixes, the SAO star as alignment object fix and the fix for the rare problem updating the motor control through the hand control.
4.13 - This version allows the motor control (MC) firmware to be upgraded via the port on the bottom of the hand control.
4.12 - Original version for the NexStar 4/5 SE.

5.14 - Corrects a problem with the cordwrap prevention feature.
5.13 - Original version for the NexStar 4/5 SE.

Upgrading Firmware on Non-English Hand Controls
A user-upgradeable (version 4 or higher) non-English hand control will not load English versions of firmware higher than 4.13. If you load an English version higher than 4.13 on a non-English hand control, the hand control will display "Invalid Language" when you start up the scope after the upgrade. To use your scope again you will need to load English version 4.13 firmware on the hand control or firmware in the original language. However, as of this writing (1 May 2011), Celestron has not released any method to load firmware in languages other than English. Contact Celestron - www.celestron.com - to inquire when that might occur.

As of this writing (1 May 2011), I believe all the foreign language hand controls are version 4.14. These are essentially the same as English version 4.13.

If you decide you want the features of the newer English version firmware prior to release in your original language, you should purchase the user upgradeable hand control from one of the American vendors that ships overseas - the price is about $150 plus shipping. NexRemote is another method of using the newer English version firmware with your scope.

Me presento como nuevo en este fantástico foro.

Sobre el asunto de la actualización del mando en el Nexstar, puedo informar que me ví en el mismo problema (idioma Español), el cual solucioné satisfactoriamente oniéndome en contacto con el representante en España (Microciencia), los cuales amablemente me cambiaron el software del idioma por el Inglés, actualizándome el mismo momento a la versión 4.18 (creo recordar).

Hoy mismo acabo de actualizar otra vez al 4.20 sin ningún problema.

Espero que cualquier usuario de estos modelos de Celestrón cuya versión séa en Español pueda resolver y poner al día su equipo.

Gracias a los usuarios del foro por haberme ayudado en mis inicios astronómicos, sin los cuales no sabría la mayoría de los conocimientos que poseo.

La solución que te da celestron en ese enlace que citas es pasarte a la 4.13 en inglés y de ahí actualizar a versiones inglesas pero perdiendo la posibilidad de tener el mando en castellano.

Entiendo que la única pega real que puedes tener es que la información de los objetos, la breve frase describiendolos la tendrás en inglés.

El resto del menú... ¿realmente te importa que esté en inglés?

no se si alguien sabra como poder actualizar
