Tutorial: Cómo poner en estación un CPC

+Poco a poco se van resolviendo todas mis dudas para puesta en estación y astrofotografía.

Nueva forma de puesta en estación sin tener la polar a la vista (versiones de firmware superiores a la 4.17 (inglés).

Una de las mejoras del nuevo firmware. Lo actualicé hará poco más de una semana, tengo que probarlo pero tiene muy buena pinta.

All-Star Polar Alignment - version 4.17 or later (not available on SLT, GT or StarSeeker models)
All-Star Polar Alignment is similar to Wedge Align, which it replaces, though a couple of differences exist. All-Star Polar Alignment allows the use of any star while Wedge Align was restricted to Polaris or Sigma Octanis. Also, after using All-Star Polar Alignment, you are not required to power off and do another EQ alignment as is required with Wedge Align.
Procedure
•
Complete an EQ alignment.
•
GoTo a star on the Named Star (LIST button).
•
Press ALIGN, use the Up and Down buttons (6 and 9 on the keypad) to scroll to Polar Align and press ENTER.

Use the Up and Down buttons (6 and 9 on the keypad) to scroll to Align Mount and press ENTER.

At this point, the mount will again GoTo the star you selected. Center the star in the finder and press ENTER.

Using the same arrow buttons as used during alignment, center the star in the eyepiece and press ALIGN. The star is now Synced.
•
Following the instructions on the display, press ENTER to begin the final steps of the procedure. The mount will slew slightly to an orientation which corresponds to a correct polar alignment.

Using ONLY the wedge adjustments, NOT the arrow buttons on the hand control, center the star in a reticle or high magnification eyepiece. Press ENTER when finished.
•
Press UNDO once, then use the Up and Down buttons (6 and 9 on the keypad) to scroll to Undo Sync and press ENTER. If you escaped out of the menu system, you will find Undo Sync on the ALIGN button menu.
•
Check GoTo accuracy by selecting a Named Star and pressing ENTER to GoTo that star. If necessary, use the Alignment Stars feature described later in this document to improve accuracy.

Y, ¿qué es CPC?

Hola gutiveros,
Se trata de la montura Altazimutal de Celestron, todos sus modelos comienzan por CPC y luego la medida en pulgadas del diámetro de la óptica del telescopio. Ejemplo Celestron CPC 800 = corresponde al modelo de 8 pulgadas (203,2 mm).

La montura Altazimutal equivalente de Meade es la llamada LX 200

Nunca he usado monturas con goto, sólo ecuatorial clásica. ¿Es necesario esperar siempre la señal GPS o se pueden meter manualmente y tener almacenadas en memoria las coordenadas del sitio?

¿Sabeis si en en otros sistemas (Meade, Skywatcher...) es también así?

Edit: ya puestos, otra duda: una vez puesta en estación, si se quiere apuntar a otra zona del cielo a a un objeto que es fácilmente localizable "a ojo" ¿se puede hacer manualmente de forma rápida sin perder la puesta en estación y luego dejar que el telescopio haga el seguimiento? ¿o es necesario buscarlo con el goto (lo cual supongo que en muchos casos será más lento)?

También puedes poner las coordenadas manualmente y las guarda (imagina que no tienes señal, no podrías funcionar). Pero la señal gps con coordenadas y hora utc la coge enseguida así que resulta muy cómodo.
Y respecto a la segunda pregunta, no, si desembragas y apuntas manualmente pierdes la puesta en estación. Eso lo hacen monturas con doble encoder, como la AZ EQ6GT, pero no la CPC800.

Edito: Para aclararte que el módulo GPS también se puede desconectar. Hay una función para conectarlo o desconectarlo. Si lo tienes desconectado y metes los datos manualmente te los guarda para la próxima vez así.
